Bringing you home safely

You and your family are going through a lot right now and you’re probably feeling overwhelmed and worried. You entrusted us with your protection for the possibility of moments like these. We’re here to help put you at ease while we continue to ensure you get the proper care and prepare to bring you home.

With so many details to consider at this stage of your experience (you may hear us refer to it as “repatriation”), you and your loved ones might have questions. We hope the following information will help to answer some of them. Please call us anytime, about anything, especially if you have more questions or need support.

Before you fly home

Your health and safety come first

  • Our expert Team of Physicians and Nurses will work with you and your local medical team to assess your condition and care needs, and when appropriate, confirm stability to travel and make travel recommendations.
  • If applicable and depending on your situation, we initiate a hospital bed find in your home province once stability to travel is confirmed or arrange to transport you to your home.

  • We secure ground transportation (i.e. airport sedan, airport van, private ground ambulance) based on your illness, injury and care needs.
  • We assess/arrange specialty equipment (i.e. oxygen concentrator, suction device, etc..)
  • All travel recommendations are reviewed by our qualified Physician Group, which includes Medical Doctors, Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists and Paramedics.
Your flight arrangements

We’ll take care of all the details

  • Ensure your documentation is in order: passport, health card, etc…
  • Take your personal needs, injury or illness into account when booking your seat.
  • Consider a stretcher* when sitting tolerance is a concern. This option can take up to 7-10 business days for the airline to confirm.
  • Pre-arrange wheelchair assistance.
  • Arrange meals to meet dietary restrictions – we’ll ask you 48 hours in advance.
  • Provide your itinerary and seating information once your flight has been confirmed.
  • Select options with the most direct flight path.

Aircraft and seating vary depending on availability and where you are in the world; and typically take between 24 to 48 hours to arrange.

* This service is currently not offered for flights within North America or South America.

Your travelling companion

We’ll try to get your travelling companion home too

  • Our team will attempt to include your travel companion(s) on the same flight as you.
  • If there is no capacity, alternative arrangements will be reviewed.
  • In all cases, our team will review all flight itineraries prior to booking.
  • We will also review the eligibility of your companion’s flight; and will always assist – even if it’s not covered.
  • For pet companions, airline policies differ, so please let us know about your pet as soon as possible.
