Mondial Assistance Celebrates a “Blue” Beginning as Allianz Global Assistance

Scott McKellar Cutting the Ribbon

The brand launch event, attended by the company’s 250 associates and special guests from other Canadian-based Allianz entities, was held at Allianz Global Assistance’s Canadian head office, which is located in the former “Lulu’s Roadhouse” building in Kitchener ON.

With a theme of “Feeling Blue Never Felt So Good!”, the celebration highlighted the change from the Mondial Assistance “red” brand to the “blue” logo and brand of Allianz, while paying homage to the musical history of the Lulu's building, a former music venue that hosted a number of blues music legends in its heyday.

The celebration included "blues" style sunglasses and “Backstage” VIP passes for all guests, a live blues music performance by Mike Whaling, catered lunch and an official ribbon cutting ceremony.

Staying true to the "blues" theme, the original Lulu’s sign was temporarily refinished from its classic red colour to a new blue in honour of the rebranding to Allianz Global Assistance.

In his welcome speech to guests, Allianz Global Assistance CEO Scott McKellar noted, “This is an exciting day for our organization as we assume the name of one of the world’s best known brands along with the responsibility of living up to that name.”

Feeling Blue

With lots of laughter and smiles throughout the event, it was evident that everyone in the company was feeling good about their “blue” beginning.

As a subsidiary of Allianz for over 10 years, Mondial Assistance adopted the Allianz name as part of a global rebranding effort that will see 33 Mondial Assistance business units around the world transition to the Allianz Global Assistance brand between 2010 and 2012.
