Pre-trip Assistance
An informed traveller is a safe traveller. Allianz Global Assistance empowers insured members with pre-trip assistance services to help them prepare for their trip. Available services include but are not limited to providing information on visa requirements, vaccinations, travel advisories and steps to take in a medical emergency while travelling.
24/7 Emergency Assistance
Our experienced team of Emergency Assistance specialists is available 24/7/365. As the first point of contact for travelling members, their objective is to offer reassurance and caring support in a traveller’s time of need, including referrals to in-network providers, arrangements for direct billing and guidance on next steps for their claim, depending on the treatment plan.
Medical Case Management
Allianz Global Assistance’s cost containment efforts begin on the first call, with referrals provided to in-network medical providers whenever possible. Our Medical Case Management team handles all inpatient and medically complex cases, closely monitoring patient care to ensure they receive the best treatment possible while averting costs where possible, including providing approvals for investigative or invasive procedures. Our Medical Case Management team also works with our extensive air ambulance network to manage medical evacuations and arrange for repatriation to Canada once a patient is medically stable to travel.
Cost Containment & Networks
Our in-house Medical Provider Management team executes our robust provider network strategy, which delivers significant cost savings to partners through established relationships with leading Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) networks as well as through direct networks and negotiation. Additionally, our proprietary Allianz Cost Containment System (ACCS) ensures provider bills are automatically directed through the PPO network that will deliver the highest possible discount.
Claims Adjudication
With over 30 years of experience managing travel assistance and claims adjudication for Canada’s top brands, Allianz Global Assistance effectively controls program costs through focused efforts at every stage of the claim, including adjudication according to policy terms and conditions, coordination of benefits, third-party subrogation, GHIP recoveries and fraud prevention.
